“Tappan is a go-to for a thoughtful curation and gives emerging artists a platform to show their work. I always appreciate the broad mix of mediums—from paintings and sculpture to prints and photography, there’s always new works and artists to discover.”
“I’ve been an admirer of Ethan Caflisch’s for a while. There’s a meditative sense of calm in this particular work, the thoughtful nuance of the linework and colors brings the narrative to its most essential elements. I love the balance, it's calming yet graphic.”On Ethan Caflisch's spending the night in a different bed xl
“The immediacy of a joyful moment caught in time completely draws me in—and what’s even more dynamic is the strong geometry of the architecture, which frames and sets off the movement of the subjects so perfectly.”On Jaimie Milner's Bradford Young
“For me, the depiction and celebration of everyday moments in this painting is quite powerful in its contrast. The graphic bold red demands the viewer to take notice of this daily life moment—I love how the painting is simultaneously serene but impactful.”On Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck's Broad Beans I
“There’s a movie-like quality to this photograph—the strong sense of narrative, from the deliberate crop of the vintage décor to the strong angles of the shadows-captures the everyday corners of this locale so beautifully. This work makes you want to know more.”On Gia Coppola's Dottie's Closet
