The modern portraits leave plenty of room for interpretation: Just when you think you have fully recognized and understood yourself or a special person, the paintings whisper new secrets as elegant vases with flowers and pieces of furniture act as silent witnesses.

Abs uses acrylic and oil pastels on canvas to create a texture that invites the viewer to explore the depth of the colors and shapes again and again. Her works fill the room with an atmosphere ranging from harmonious to slightly melancholic — entirely at the will of the viewer.
