In Tagada Hoffbeck's series “Safe Space”, she paints women holding teacups in order to emphasize the daily action and ritual of sharing tea as a space created for comfort. In these moments of painting her subjects she spoke in depth to the women about social and ecological subjects they were passionate about. Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck
Transdisciplinary artist Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck's practice includes painting, drawing, collage, photographic prints, sculpture, and publishing. Tagada Hoffbeck shows extensively in Far-East Asia and Europe. Tagada Hoffbecks recent exhibitions include Somerset House (London), Totodo (Tokyo), Kate MacGarry (London).
