The Tiger Who Takes Us to Tea
Acrylic, Pumice on Canvas
“Scenes from a Day Gone By", Kate Florence's most recent series, celebrates the simplicity of human connection through playful scenes of everyday life. In these large original paintings on canvas, Florence captures the fond memories of her childhood in the UK, reflecting on the places and moments that have shaped her. Working rapidly with fluid, intuitive brushstrokes, Florence stays present in her creative flow, allowing each piece to develop naturally. Her playful approach is central to her practice. Embracing a warm palette and experimenting with texture, Florence’s works tell stories with form and texture, inviting the viewer to consider the universal moments of everyday life that could be in the past, present, or future.
