Third Eye Varied Edition 4
Photogravure print
During her year-long residency at Otra Vox, Humphreys created the series In Color: Spectral Meditations for Healing, which represents her deep dive into color research and theory. With these works, Humphreys was interested in exploring a single color’s effects beyond the senses. She loved the pull of the composition for Indigo so much that she decided to make an edition of ten photogravure prints, which became the Third Eye works. The color Indigo is connected to our intuition and third eye and she chose black for the ink color. Keeping it playful with the paper color, Humphreys ensures no two works are the same.

“Through her continued impulse to examine and ritualize repetitive domestic work, she transforms an act of service into a suspended moment of beauty.”
